Delta A310s and a 727 at Frankfurt, 1995. More info in comments.

Main Post: Delta A310s and a 727 at Frankfurt, 1995. More info in comments.

Top Comment: CONTEXT: When Delta took over the remnants of a bankrupt Pan Am in 1991, quite a few aircraft were involved in the deal, including a rather sizable fleet of A310s. The aircraft pictured, however (N839AD), was part of several brand-new A310s Delta leased from Airbus to replace some of the oldest A310s they had acquired in the takeover. Also included in the acquisition was Pan Am's hub at Frankfurt; that meant for a couple years, Delta 727s could be seen running inter-European routes. The Frankfurt hub was never a particularly profitable venture for Delta, nor were the A310s (the fleet had mostly consisted of MD and Boeing aircraft until that point). All the A310s would leave the fleet by late 1995; Frankfurt operations would gradually be scaled back until the hub was eliminated by 1997. Picture source Source #1 Source #2 Source #3 Source #4

KCON Germany 2024 Ticket Info (240724 KCON_official Twitter)

Top Comment: considering I already spent more than the top tier ticket on DC and The Boyz tours this year plus travel and stay from NY to Frankfurt is cheaper than NY to LA... this kcon would be a much better deal for me than LA. Would love to go if I hadn’t already scheduled my Korea trip for that time.
